Our Submission Guidelines

We accept all types of subject matter for the submissions. Both “all audiences” or “mature readers ” content is fine!
We are not married to any one type of genre for our comic publishing. We are very much open to all types of projects,
If you look at our current lineup of properties (Cavewoman, Harpy, Razor, etc.) you can see what type of books we
usually publish. But again, we would like to see anything you have.

All submissions (including email) MUST include some type of cover letter or introduction that covers a variety of
information we need. If you just send us a package with pages in it, and we have no real concrete idea of what you
expect from us, our response time will be very lengthy as we will devote our energy to reviewing complete packages
of materials. Please give us some cover letter info upfront so we know what you are thinking with your submission:

  • Your name, address and phone number & email. Any websites you have to show us should be noted here also.
  • We don’t need a resume, but if you have worked in the industry in any capacity before, it would be nice to know
    that.
  • A detailed explanation of what you are submitting – what are your expectations with this submission? Looking
for a one-shot comic deal, or an ongoing series, magazine, artbook or? Looking to sell a property or script? Just
sending us freelance samples with the need to be paired up with a writer or an artist? Be real specific on what
your goals are and what you are expecting with the materials we are to review.
  • Please make it clear on who is the target audience for your material and if it is intended for a mature audience
    (which is fine) or not.
Please do not send anything to us that needs to be returned. All materials submitted that we wish to consider will
be kept in our files. DO NOT send original hand written pages of story or original hand drawn pages of artwork that
you are expecting to have sent back to you. Even if you include a prepaid envelope or other type of return mailing
packaging – we will not return the materials. So, again, please send us only copies of your materials and nothing
that needs to be returned.

We do not critique artwork or writing samples. Due to time issues, our staff is simply not equipped to offer constructive
criticism of packages of material sent our way. We are honored that you have taken the time to make a submission to
us, but if we currently can’t use your submitted materials we’ll give you a polite “no”, but not a detailed analysis of why
we can’t use your submission right now. Don’t take a rejection personally! It’s isn’t the person we are reviewing – just
the materials submitted. We make our judgments purely on the fact of whether we can use the materials in our
publishing plans or not. We will keep all submissions on file in the event something changes in the future. You never
can tell, and perhaps one day in the future we will contact you and see if you are available for work.

Please include a SASE if you want a reply (not a critique or samples back) from us. Including an email address
instead is fine also. If the submission is something we have an immediate need for, you’ll hear from us very quickly
as we work toward fitting your materials in our publishing schedule as soon as possible. Whether we can use your
materials or not, we promise to reply to all those who send submissions, so please do not bombard us with letters or
emails asking about the status of a submission. Please do not send your submission via overnight service, certified
or registered mail. Regular mail will be fine, and it won’t speed up our response time – save your money!

Terms of business – every publishing company does their business slightly different when it’s time to work with the

talent. Some have contracts with page rates, some do royalties, etc. We actually do many different compensation
packages, which vary based on the product we are publishing and your involvement in it (meaning is it a creator owned
publishing deal or are you a freelance artist or writer working with others on a project…etc). This is confidential
information that is discussed with the creative person/team on a case by case basis after we have responded positively
to your submission. We do not discuss payment packages of any nature upfront. Please don’t contact us with a question
like “Hey, if I sent this in, what can I get paid for it?” If we like what we see in your submission, we will then get
together and work out something that works for both parties involved. We want to make sure as best we can that both
sides are as happy as they can get, and that doesn’t always mean working from a set formula. It’s sometimes a tough
business being in comics, but we want to try and make sure we all can make some money doing a project together!
